Registering a vehicle - If you have a car, it must be re-registered within a week.
Registering a pet - If you have a dog, registration with the municipality is mandatory.
Organize childcare and school - Inform yourself early about the available childcare and educational facilities in your community and register your children in a kindergarten or school in time to ensure a smooth start.
Inform social insurance - Report your new address to the ÖGK or SVS if you are self-employed.
Inform bank about address change - Update your address with your bank to avoid missing important documents.
Inform the tax office about the new place of residence - Register online or in person.
Update car insurance - If your place of residence changes, the insurance must be adjusted.
Whether you commute daily or want to explore the region - Ausserfern is well connected. For example, you can reach Innsbruck, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Kempten or even Munich by public transport.
In Ausserfern you are mobile without your own car – with bus and train.
S-Bahn: The Ausserfern Railway (S7) connects Reutte with Garmisch-Partenkirchen hourly via Lermoos and Ehrwald.
Regiobus Tirol: Direct bus connections run from Reutte to Innsbruck, the Lech Valley, the Tannheim Valley, Zwischentoren, and the Allgaeu – with access to several towns in the valleys.

RegioFlink drives on demand in the valley of Reutte flexibly to around 300 stops - ideal for short distances or trips outside of peak hours. RegioFlink can be booked via app or phone.

Anyone who moves to the Außerfern with their own vehicle or brings one from abroad should definitely inform themselves in advance about the applicable regulations. Depending on the country of origin and type of vehicle, costs such as NoVA (Normverbrauchsabgabe), customs duties or import turnover tax may apply. The use of foreign license plates is also only allowed under certain conditions - violations can result in significant penalties.
