
As a Junior Sommelier, you are part of the Sommelier team and support the restaurant service in providing expert wine guidance through active presence in the restaurant and professional guest service.
In close collaboration with the Sommelier team and under the professional guidance of the Diploma or Head Sommelier, you help create a high-quality, authentic, and service-oriented wine experience for our guests. This position is clearly operationally focused.
Your main responsibilities:
Guest Service
- Active participation in the evening service
- Support in wine recommendations for guests, including suggesting appropriate wines to match dishes according to the defined pairing guidelines
- Presentation and service of wine, champagne, and other beverages
- Maintaining a professional, attentive, and service-oriented guest interaction
- Assistance with in-house events, tastings, and special events
Supporting the Sommelier Team
- Mise-en-place tasks, including assisting with maintaining relevant areas (wine cabinets, service areas, glassware)
- Support with bottle handling, refills, and simple control tasks
- Assistance in updating wine lists and informational materials according to the Sommelier team’s instructions
Quality & Standards
- Implementation of defined guest service, quality, and wine standards
- Compliance with hygiene and safety standards in the service area
- Representing the house’s wine philosophy in daily guest interactions
(Further) Development
- Active participation in internal wine training and workshops
- Continuous expansion of expertise in wine and beverage pairing
- Close cooperation with Diploma and Head Sommeliers for professional development
Our requirements for you:
Professional Qualifications
- 2–3 years of professional experience in upscale gastronomy service
- Completed training in restaurant or hotel management preferred
- Basic knowledge of wine required; Junior Sommelier training or equivalent further education desirable
- Willingness to further develop expertise in wine and service culture
- Good German and English skills; additional languages desirable

According to Familux Pay, starting from at least € 2,800 gross for a 45-hour week (overpayment depending on qualifications).
