The Reutte hobby filmmaker and photographer Roland Bader has started a new project: He visits every community in the Außerfern region to showcase them on camera. The result is a cinematic journey through the region - with insights into everyday life, local businesses, and the special places that shape each community.
Bader, born in 1966, has been behind the camera for decades. He became known for his nature and travel photography as well as documentaries like The Last Wild, where he followed the course of the Lech river from its source to its mouth. Now he is focusing on his own homeland - the Außerfern region.
In his new videos, Bader guides viewers through villages, showcases the churches, and tells their history. He also lets the people who shape the region speak, too.
In the video feature "Der Linke Lechseite" he visits the company Holzbau Saurer - a traditional business in Höfen that has stood for craftsmanship quality for generations.
